Amazing Classified Repulse Bay

Classified-Repulse-Bay_Classified-Repulse-Bay_Entrance_restaurant-cafe-food-interiorThe comfy Repulse Bay, located in Hong Kong, is the latest outpost of Classified series of cafés. Showing a new industrial-chic look, redefining the standard coffee shops. The firm Substance got inspired by the cafés at the seaside, using the marine blue tiles, rustic timber flooring and lobster-pot inspired ceiling lights. On the menu you can find shrimp, chorizo jambalaya and organic Thai quinoa salad. Or enjoy a cup of coffee and enjoy a spot of watching people in one of the two swinging sofas.

Hussein Jarouche, the owner of Micasa, a furniture and object store located in São Paulo, and his girlfriend, interior decorator Ana Strumpf, visites New York for about 4 times a year. And when he get there he sleeps in his 87 m2 loft in Chelsea. Creating a space full with design, art and new ideas. Making a patchwork of old plates of brass lamps on the ceiling, hanging different kinds of animals on the wall, industrial objects (chairs, stairs and display cabinet) and of course a lot of art by Alex Katz, James Rosenquist and Damien Hirst.hussein-jarouche-chelsea-loft-micasa-funiture-house-interior-design-incredible-new-york-art-2 hussein-jarouche-chelsea-loft-micasa-funiture-house-interior-design-incredible-new-york-art-3 hussein-jarouche-chelsea-loft-micasa-funiture-house-interior-design-incredible-new-york-art-4

Assignment space styling: Hotel room

At school we have to design a hotel room for the old Volkskrant building, the target group are creatives and in the hotel room they have to experience something new and innovative. I immidiatly thought of a (old loft) elevator room. The door is elevator doors and you have two levels. The first has a livingroom and the second a bathroom. The elevator is the bedroom and goes to level 1 and 2.

Target group: creatives, trend-sensitive and are love doing unusual things.Elevator inspiration (inspiration: an old industrial loft elevator with a fence cage) Livingroom collage (inspiration: a american loft, industrial look)

Bathroom collage (inspiration: collage showers and lockers, a lot of light and white furniture)
