VOGUE September issue

Today was the launch of the first Dutch September Issue. The theme of this years issue is the Romantic Revolution. In the Bijenkorf in Amsterdam their was the opportunity to buy the magazine one day earlier, so I thought way not take a look!
The windows of the Bijenkorf were designed by the VOGUE stylists, a dress made of army jackets, roses hanging on a thread, a big pile of red clothing with a model on top and a lot of beautiful designer clothes!
The only thing that bothered me was how they organised the hole thing. I thought VOGUE would make something fantastic to pronounce the September issue but unfortunately they just showed a few models dressed nicely with a baby car with roses, to give a way! Nothing spectacular! The whole time I thought it still had to begin, i was expecting something big.
Aurelian Junner’s Magazine Cover Art
Artist and designer, Aurelian Junner, made these fantastic art with magazines, they are not only beautiful, he also had a very good reason why he transformers these magazines. He reflects on the function of fashion magazine as a medium of dissemination of “mass culture” images and its relation to reality. He thinks totally different, his method is “juxtaposition intervention”, questioning the status of the fictional world and idealization created for the magazine, and its relationship to the real world where the image is built.
Fricote Magazine
Fricote is a french magazine about food. And because of my new assignment (foodstyling) at school, I just had to share it. They also have a blog with the most funny designs made with food or that looks like food. I realy get inspired when I see what you can do with food. See fricote for more inspiration.
